An introduction to Plus500

Plus500 is a broker founded in Israel by six friends in 2008 and launched in 2009. The idea was born when one of the founders, Alon Gonen, tried to short Microsoft shares from the most prominent broker at the time, IG Group. However, the registration process on IG seemed too complicated and unfriendly to the user. So the future founders of Plus500 decided they would try to do a better job than the existing platforms and started working on Plus500. In 2014, Plus500 had about 1 million clients and conducted more than 2 million monthly transactions. In 2022, Plus500 has about 22 million customers. The UK website operates under registration from an FCA license. Plus500 is listed at Aim [LON: PLUS].

When receiving your first-time real Plus500 bonus, you must fulfill some requirements after receiving the first deposit bonus. All brokers have requirements to avoid scams, depending on your bonus. For instance, if you receive £40 to £200, the requirements are:

  1. To withdraw your bonus, you need 100 Tpoints (trader points).
  2. One bonus per household/IP address is allowed.
  3. The bonus expires in three months.

Plus500 trader points (Tpoints)

To fulfill the wager demand and withdraw the bonus and the money earned with the bonus, you will need to earn trader points or Tpoints. You make Tpoints by trading. So, for example, if you open a position on UK 100 and buy a position worth £15,000, you will receive 3.00 TPoints.

Points for trades

The trade will be paid in addition to the trade cost to gain points for trades made from Plus500 or on any of their trading platforms. The Points are used as profit-loss credit that can be applied to any trader’s trading account at Plus500.

The Points you earn do not expire, can be claimed on a trading account for all trading services, and can be transferred across multiple trades.

The points for trades that have already been made are only valid for trades accepted by Plus500 and won’t be accepted as a trade towards your bonus offer.

Plus500 markets

Plus500 offers a broad range of investment possibilities within the main markets: shares, commodities, indices, forex, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). If you are not into, for example, single stocks, you can invest further in indices such as the British FSTE, the German DAX, the Dow Jones, or whatever you choose. The advantage of an index is that you don’t have to be an expert within a single stock but can invest in a range of different companies simultaneously.

Plus Mobile

Since more and more people are using their mobile devices, smartphones, or tablets when they invest, your broker must offer a mobile solution. Plus500 provides a mobile solution to support it when you are up for it and when the markets are good. Sometimes you may have the right strategy but are too busy to sit at home and invest; then, you can use the Plus500 mobile device solution to invest at the right time. In the first quarter of 2013, 40% of all Plus500 transactions were made via a smartphone or a tablet. In the later years, even more, Plud500 transactions are made via a smartphone or a tablet.
